Syndicat Energies Renouvelables – France
The MEC and French Renewable Energy Trade Association (SER) signed a memorandum of understanding in 2021, agreeing to share analyses, good practices, and industry insights to support the development of innovative tidal energy technologies. The agreement facilitates cross-promotion and communication to support growth and marine energy industry development.
The SER was established in 1993 to promote the interests of the renewable industry in France to public authorities, parliament, and all bodies in charge of energy, industry, employment, the environment, and research. Alongside marine power SER also represents a broad range of other renewable energy technologies including: biofuels, biomass, wood, biogas, wind power, geothermal energy, hydroelectricity, heat pumps, solar photovoltaics, thermal and concentrated solar power.
Ocean Energy Europe
The MEC works closely with Ocean Energy Europe (OEE), the largest network of ocean energy professionals in the world to support their shred mission to create a strong environment for the development of ocean energy, improve access to funding, and enhance business opportunities for its respective members.
The OEE is comprised of over 120 organisations, including Europe’s leading utilities, industrialists and research institutes, and represents the interests of Europe’s ocean energy sector.
Ocean DEMO
The MEC is supported by Ocean DEMO, a €13m Interreg North West Europe project helping to bring offshore renewable energy technologies to the market by providing free access to Europe’s world-leading network of test centres.
Ocean DEMO specifically targets multi-device ocean energy installations. This will allow developers to prove their technology at full commercial scale.
Ocean DEMO will ease the transition towards multi-device farms by providing free access to Europe’s world leading network of open sea test centres.
